Regional Projects and Events

The Forum at Redwood City

The Forum at Redwood City is a series of in-depth discussions for city leaders and planning professionals related to various city planning and design issues. Past forums have focused on topics including smart growth, transit-oriented development, form-based codes, and complete street design for bicyclists, pedestrians and automobiles.

FOCUS

FOCUS is a regional development and conservation strategy that promotes a more compact land use pattern for the Bay Area. This initiative is led by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) in coordination with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) and the Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC).

FOCUS Forum is a series of monthly meetings to learn more about creating complete communities close to transit in urbanized areas.
 

Institute for Metropolitan Studies

The San Jose State University Institute for Metropolitan Studies (IMS) conducts seminars on a variety of subjects. IMS also conducts full semester courses on specific subjects of interest to planners, local officials, the business community, and the public at large.
